Job Title: Utility
Location: Navajo Mine
Summary:
The Utility will safely perform routine assignments in a variety of work environments. This is a Full-Time Temporary/Fixed-Term position that has a fixed start date and a fixed end date.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain and operate various types of equipment where qualified which may include the wash bay, power washers, hand and power tools, or other tools and equipment as needed.
- Operate various types of vehicles such as pickup trucks and diesel-powered trucks where qualified.
- Perform safety inspections of work areas prior to commencing work and maintain good housekeeping.
- Job duties must be performed in accordance with MSHA laws and regulations, established company safety procedures and State and Federal environmental regulations.
- Meets commitments while being responsive to organizational needs and timeframes: takes initiative to add value beyond the scope of the job.
- Act responsibly in all duties, follow all safety instructions and established policies and procedures.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete company training programs.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a positive safety attitude and be willing and able to work shift work with varying schedules and hours, as well as perform work outdoors in all types of weather conditions for long periods of time.
- Demonstrate ability to be team oriented and capable of communicating well with fellow employees.
- Experience in the trade of servicing or operating automotive or heavy equipment preferred.
- Related experience in surface mining is preferred.
- General knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Possess a valid State driver’s license.

- Any offer of employment is contingent on new hires becoming a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (“IUOE”) Local 953 within 31 days from start date as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Failure to become a member within the required timeframe will result in termination of employment.
