Summary of Position:

 This position is primarily responsible for washing and cleaning belt lines, sample system’s, silos, crushers, outbuildings, MCC’s, and yards in the Plant. Assisting mechanics with maintenance and performing other miscellaneous maintenance tasks are also required.  This role also requires continuous improvement of work practices, and therefore will require continued training, and the ability to fully define and implement long-term solutions.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Promote strong safety practices including lockout/tag-out and work area cleanliness.
• Ensure the plant is kept clean.
• Perform and/or assist with maintenance tasks.
• Identify opportunities for improvement the work environment.
• Consistently display positive behaviors that supports the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Communicate with others and provide information for planning, prioritizing and completion of tasks.

  Qualifications:

• Satisfactory safety record as well as a strong commitment to individual and team performance and accountability
• High school diploma/GED.
• All plant personnel are required to attain Mine Foreman’s certificate when qualified.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Must be a self-starter, safety conscious and able to function in other support requirements as needed.
• Highly flexible with the ability to adjust to the demands of the job, produce high quality work, and can be depended on to complete assigned tasks.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.  Employee is required to have the ability to:  frequently sit, stand, rotate while sitting or standing, forward bend while sitting or standing, climb stairs, climb stepladders, perform elevated work, grip up to 39 pounds; occasionally lift up to 73 pounds to waist, front carry up to 50 pounds, push with up to 54 pounds of force, forward bend sit, crawl, kneel, and crouch;  rarely lift up to 35 pounds to waist, carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive squats, shovel various material.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  Works in site environments on rotating shifts with variable hours. Working outdoors in all weather conditions; working on uneven surfaces; working in plant environment; working in shop environment; working at heights; and working in the cab of equipment or vehicle.
